        abstract = {This Bachelor Thesis investigates online identification of a blackbox
        system in discrete time domain. The main objective is to investigate
        the emergence of complex temporal dynamics from several models of
        simple dynamical systems. The ensemble parametric model, that combines
        simple models of dynamical systems is built. The parameters of the
        ensemble model are altered online by optimization procedure performed
        by evolutionary algorithm. The model is algorithmized and implemented
        as neural module that could be connected into framework of hybrid
        artificial neural network. This neural network represents an architecture
        of autonomous intelligent agent and the aim of the module would be
        to improve agents interpretation of temporal dynamics of the environment.
        This thesis deepens the research conducted for the last thirteen
        years by Prof. Assoc. Pavel Nahodil and recently by Ing. Jaroslav
        Vitku on Department of Cybernetics on CTU in Prague.},

        abstract = {My bachelor thesis studies, develops and implements algorithms for
        on-line learning and generating of sequential patterns primary gathered
        from the surrounding environment perceived by the artificial creature.
        Consequently it analyzes the usability of these algorithms on processing
        of the large data sets and on the prediction of events observed by
        the autonomous agent in the virtual environment. Implemented algorithms
        are compared to the existing algorithms, which are applicable for
        the similar problem. The main objective of my work is to develop
        independent subsystem capable of processing incoming information
        and recognizing the sequential patterns behind it. These patterns
        are consequently used to predict upcoming events by depending on
        information gathered in the past. The resulting program coded in
        Java programing language is part of the library for on-line sequential
        mining and prediction developed by me. In addition I programed module
        compatible with the robotic operating system using ROS Java library.
        It can be hosted as a process called ROS node with the ability of
        exchanging information with other processes implementing ROS node
        API. In this way it can be connected into the hybrid artificial neural
        network.},

        abstract = {This thesis aims to prove that hybrid neural networks developed by
        Jaroslav Vítků as a part of artificial life research lead by Pavel
        Nahodil on CTU in Prague (Faculty of Cybernetics) is a viable concept.
        The main goal of this thesis is creation of a simple artificial creature
        capable of solving Block World problem. A combination of neural network
        and a domain independent planning algorithm is used to achieve it.
        Separate modules communicate through Robotic Operation System (ROS)
        and are joined in a hybrid network using Nengoros simulator. Whole
        network and its parts are put through several experiments to verify
        their functionality. Aside from a working example of a hybrid neural
        network there are other results in reusable nodes containing SOM
        and STRIPS algorithms that can be freely reused in future work as
        they are designed with versatility in mind.},

        abstract = {My thesis explores a problem of neural networks with regard to their
        behaviour. It deepens a more than thirteen years old research of
        approach of artificial life conducted by Pavel Nahodil on CTU in
        Prague (Faculty of Cybernetics). My objective was to develop a tool
        that would enable better understanding, demonstration and research
        of internal behavioural regularities of a third generation neural
        networks. The resulting application is written in Java and supports
        drawing of planar graphs. It is based on a library developed by University
        of Maryland. For manipulation with data and structure of the graph,
        I used knowledge acquired when studying the area of Graphs, Cybernetics
        and Artificial Inteligence. Program gives the user various options
        in interaction with the network animation or distribution. My application
        is able to display the network and enables a visualisation of its
        behaviour in real time. Aside from functioning application written
        in Java, this work also resulted in creation of several implemented
        algorithms tested on various topologies of neural networks. Thus,
        in my work, I will present not only the application itself, but also
        the algorithms for distribution of network and a discussion of usefullness
        of their results.},

        abstract = {Presented Diploma Thesis is from area of development of artificial
        creatures. The work builds on a research of the latest approaches
        to artificial life, realized by the Department of Cybernetics, CTU
        in Prague, under the leadership of Pavel Nahodil in the last twenty
        years.
        
        The main feature of this architecture should be it’s total autonomy,
        ability to gain all information from the surrounding environment
        and effective information filtering and classification. Agent is
        supposed to operate based only on the sensory input and by it’s actuator
        system, because of the properties meant above the resulting architecture
        should be almost fully independent on the concrete area and form
        of use. Consequently it is unimportant whether the agent is embodied
        in some robotic system, intelligent house, or just operates in some
        virtual environment. Thanks to the fact that all the designer has
        to specify is just the sensory layer, actuator layer, and agent’s
        needs, the architecture should be convenient especially in unknown
        environments, where some more complex task has to be fulfilled.
        
        This agent architecture is based on the layered model, combining various
        approaches on different layers. The life of agent is similar to a
        newly born animal, which explores new and unknown environment, learns
        from experiences and links the newly learned abilities to it’s needs
        in order to survive and increase effectiveness of it’s behavior.
        New knowledge is learned simultaneously on various levels of abstraction
        using different learning approaches.
        
        Besides the proposing the agent architecture, I hope that this thesis
        should be con- tribution also in the approach of combining some various
        types of decision making, the resulting system exploits their benefits
        and inhibits their weaknesses. One of the main features is an alternative
        implementation of system similar to reactive and hierarchical planning.
        The system combines hierarchical reinforcement learning with planning
        engine. The main benefit should be the domain independency of this
        planner, because the entire hierarchy of actions is created completely
        autonomously, the other benefit is tight connec- tion of these two
        systems, so the boundary how big part of given task should be created
        deliberatively and which rather reactively (based on the concrete
        actual situation), can be chosen online based on the specific agent’s
        preferences. That’s why I hope that the proposed part of architecture
        could be used also as an advanced domain independent hierarchical
        planning engine with autonomous learning from the experiences.},
